Visiting Spencer in Fresno

It was so great to see Spencer. The boys and I were excited, and of course Jack was thrilled to see his oldest son as he was finishing up his mission. Spencer served a faithful, successful mission in Fresno, CA speaking Hmong. He had many wonderful experiences, and learned to love the people and the area. It was hard for him to leave. We were able to attend the final testimony night for all the departing missionaries. We also spent time with Spencer the next day in Fresno, visiting some people he taught and worked with on his mission. It was a neat experience. We were able to get to know a great Hmong family, and taste some authentic Hmong food that they made for us. The Hmong are wonderful, giving people.
The Fresno temple was right by the Stake Center where the testimony meeting was held. We took a walk around it before going in to see Spencer. It was a beautiful temple, of course. Ian took a pic of his mom and dad by the Fresno temple. We enjoyed being in the Fresno area. It was a great time of year visit the area - not too hot yet, and not too smoggy yet. (It gets both later in the spring and summer!) It was different from Southern California, but nice still the same.
